Difference in car insurance between makes?
I did own a 1999 Chevy S-10, and am wanting to switch vehicles to a 2001 Chevy Blazer. What is the typical difference in insurance prices between small trucks and SUVs?

- depends on the insurance carrier, your age, your driving record, etc. just call up your insurance company and ask them for a quote on your current policy but with a different car...majority will give you a close estimated guess on your new policy cost. just remember, 4x4 will raise the insurance up over a 2x4
- Newer, costs more to fix, 2 wheel vs 4 wheel drive, all factors which can raise your premium. Is the vehicle you are trading up to more often stolen? Are you now financed and need full coverage? again, this can raise the rates. Only your agent knows.
- The main differences come from the 4wd from 2wd also it matters how the cars are in crashes, how safe they are. Also How often they are stolen. If you do need full coverage then your insurance will go up. Call your agent and find out the true price. I know sometimes they don't change much at all. Also included in price changes are the safty features: ABS, Air bags, Alarm.
- The price can vary quite a bit from vehicle to vehicle. You may want to try getting quotes online for both vehicles. I am paying less than ½ of what I was before I did. Auto Quotes: http://www.insureme.com/landing.aspx?Refby=615451&Type=auto Take care, Casey
