who has the cheapest car insurance for teenagers?

i got my provisional license yesterday and looking for cheap insurance. the company who insures my mom is gonna charge almost 300 dollars a month to add me alone. so i was wondering who has the cheapest price. i would be driving a ford expedition and im 17 oh yea, i live in california

1. Unfortunately you are young and a new driver, and because of that your rating is just starting at the bottom of the line. It will probably be costly for a bit, but as you maintain a clean record and build insurance history your reward will be lower premiums as the years progress. Claims are paid on as-occurance basis, so If you have a claim tomorrow the company is going to pay out and they need to be collecting the proper premium to cover this. And stats show young new drivers are higher risk, so as i said it will probably be a little more pricey now but you will see a decrease if you can keep a good record :) Good luck
