changed insurance companies car received cover note for 7 days?

new company wants proof of ncd rang my old company they said i would receive the proof of ncd, havnt received the proof the cover note ran out yesterday now i cant tax car cos i havnt received insurance document any ideas?

2. Well did you call your car insurance company? What did they say? Call them and explain that the situation in urgent and that you need the documents as soon as possible.
3. Call them back, ask them to fax it to you. Then you can fax it to the new company.
4. Most Insurance Brokers (assuming you used one) will obtain verbal confirmation over the telephone from your last insurer on your behalf. There is also a requirement for all insurers to issue evidence of your No Claims Bonus with your renewal notice. Maybe you have this evidence and have not realised it? Might help to re-check these papers and take the pressure off....
5. Doidn't you receive an official renewal notice from your previous insurance company? If so that will have proof of bonus enclosed. If you did not put in a complaint against your previous insurance (broker/) about failing to provide you with the full renewal information in a durable medium (paper-e-mail) and in good time (21 days) before your policy ran out. BTW some insurance companies will accept verbal proof of no claims bonus if you provide them with your last policy number and name of the company - they call them and sort that out - of course if you've bought over the internet or with a direct company you can't expect that level of service.
