OMG!! first car insurance how high!!! any advice???? plz read?

the lowest quote if gotten for a car was lyk 2500 per year for a fiesta ive tryed an even lower cc car now nissan micra but thats still lyk 2700 per year the cars only gonna be worth £500 any good insurance companies for first time drivers? my friend mensioned he got a quote for an estate car for 1000 coz the boy racers dont have them is that true and what sort of car would that be im setting my total budget to £2500 for car insurance n tax is tht unrealistic? its alot of money though seen as though passing is gonna cost 700 upwards ur thoughts or advice plz

1. Insurance quotes vary depending on age and experience , plus whether or not your using it for going back and forth to work etc. Some people are taking driving courses to reduce the rate. I'd phone around and see if any companies offer a discount if you take a drivers ed course first before taking one though.Some offer a great discount some offer a low discount , some offer no discount at all.
