$4000 per year for car insurance for a 2007 Nissan Sentra? Does that sound right?
This is will be my first car, and that price for insurance sounds insane to me. That would be more than my car note.

- current model sports car, driver abt 17..... yup, I'd say so.
- sure does! My fiance pays 600 DOLLARS A MONTH for insurance on his truck. your vehicle is new, and its your first car, so that sounds about right.
- Mine was $5 or 6K/yr. If you're under 25 & it's your 1st car, insurance sucks.
- Its new and its your first car, so it sounds about right (sorry)
- you're 17 you're a girl you talk on a cell phone while driving no offense, young girls are air heads yes, $4K sounds about right. just maybe you are a good, safe, responsible driver and you're not an air head, BUT most other girls ur age are not and they are a high risk of an accident and they ruined it for you, now all insurance co's rate you all at a high risk.
- Location in the US has something to do with it as well. I am a bit older than you ;) and moved recently from Ohio to Florida. I have a safe driving record and no speeding tickets in 15 years, my insurance doubled moving from the North to the South.
- You are getting ripped and gypped.....look around....call Geico, Progressive, Nationwide, and all the other major players like Allstate, State Farm, Triple A....insurance is a very, very competitive business nowadays......you need at least ten estimates before deciding and $4000 a year is a total rip off....dont do it!!!!! (another good bet is Met Life and AARP****)
- Instead of wasting your money on such high insurance, buy a reliable used car so you don't have to pay for collision. Your insurance will probably go down to about 2k, and you won't have to worry about the cost of depriciation, car payments, etc.
- That is why new drivers should not drive new cars. Get an older, cheaper car and that number will go down.
