avg auto insurance for 18 year old?

i just got in accident and i won't be on my parents policy anymore i used to pay 350 for 6 months and thats a full cover now i am 18 year old male who got in accident only one car was totalled and no other cars were involved so whats the avg 6 month full cover auto insurance will be? i got some quotes and i got prices from 1000-4000$ for 6 months one more thnig the car is 2007 pontiac G6

1. Depends on how long you've had your license, but you certainly will not be getting the $350 for 6 months... I got my license back in April (I'm 18) and in October my parents booted me off their insurance too... I also had an accident, but seeing as how the car didn't have collision coverage, and I didn't damage the telephone pole I hit, it wasn't really listed against me... I have AIG, and I'm paying about $175 per month, and they seem to be very good thus far...I however just have liability insurance, not collision coverage, as I drive a 1997 Ford Escort beater...lol Your car is obviously very new, and if it's being leased or financed then whoever that is through will probably require collision insurance on it. Of course the fact that you're a guy doesn't help, guys have inherently higher rates because the insurance companies think that males are more of a risk to insure. Some it does have to do with where you live, I used to live in a smaller city, and then I moved out into the boonies, and my insurance dropped 45 dollars on the remaining 4 months of the policy. Shop around, and I recommend AIG, I've heard good things about them for when the time comes that you actually need them. Don't go with Geico, they wanted 5 grand out of me...
