When Changing car insurance company, do they ask me to go through inspection on my vehicle?

I'm thinking about changing my car insurance company soon. I will probably go to online to get a quote and the insurance.

  1. only if ur getting full coverage
  2. they want to inspect the car for existing damage. they will document any damage and then if you try and claim it on your policy, they know it was already there. this is done if you are wanting full coverage. One piece of advise...do not purchase your policy online unless you are an insurance agent yourself. most people do not know enough about insurance to be able to do this and actually get the coverages they need. call an independent agent in your area and get a policy through them. they have a lot of companies they can search for you to get the best coverage and rates for you. trust me, if you ever have a problem with your policy or need to make a claim, you will be more than happy you did!!!! its good to have an actual person who knows you and your needs working for you when a problem arises.
  3. Some states require an "insurance inspection" when a vehicle is first insured. If you are in one of those states, then yes, you are going to have to have it inspected. You will have to ask your agent to be sure. If you go online, you ARE your own agent, so good luck with that.
  4. If you need or want collision coverage, they will ask for photos of the vehicle from both sides straight on, front and rear straight on and three-quarter views from every corner. Therefore, you're better off telling them about any damage on the car. That way, they protect themselves from spurious claims for pre-existing damage. A site I've recommended in the past would be... http://insurance.123thebest.info/ Hope that helps.
