car insurance cost if your under 18?

im getting under my parent's plan and am 17 years old. I like in Chicago and we have Metlife so i was wondering if anyone knew the possible rates?

You might check the rates with Progressive, that's what I got when I was a teenager and they seem to offer better rates than some of the bigger insurance companies.

The best one to ask is your insurance company. Also, if you are on your parent's policy, it may be less expensive for you since for each additional car on a policy you get a deduction. However, if you are on your parent's policy, they may want to have an umbrella policy as well to protect all of you better since you would not be an experienced driver over the age of 25. Statistically speaking, young males have the highest auto insurance rates.
