  1. depending on the type of car it will cost more, and from what i've been told red cars can sometimes be a little more. basically to answer your question go to progressive.com, alstate.com and geico and compare rates. that's basically all you can really do. (although geico is usually the cheapest) not to mention if you go to a local driving school and take a certain course u can save money on insurance.
  2. It depends where you live...like not just what state, what zip code you live in...whether you park it on the street, possibly your grades, your driving record, and how much coverage you carry. No, it does not matter if your car is red. A lot of companies won't even ask. There might be higher overall insurance rates for red cars, but that is because a lot of models which are very expensive to insure have red among the more popular colors...NOT because you pay higher rates for a red car. For instance: a white Mustang won't cost any less to insure than a red one, but both will be more expensive than a red Corolla. And no, Camrys are not noted for being expensive to insure.
  3. depends how long you've had your license, where you live, and your history of driving good choice on your car though! yes, driving schools teach you that if you buy a: black, red or yellow car insurance will be more because those colors were most assossiated with racers.
  4. Depends on several factors: 1) Where do you live (where will it park overnight) 2) Where will the car be driven (city/state) 3) How will the car be driven (work, pleaseure, to school?) 4) Driver training 5) Accident History 6) Ticket History 7) Estimated milage to be driven (annual or 1 way basis to work) 8) If you live in the USA your credit history/record (not allowed to be used in Canada)
  5. Typically, insurance rates will vary from State to State and can even vary by ZIPCODE. The best thing to do is call a LOCAL independent agent. Don't go across town, or to some other city - look for someone CLOSE. Just look in the phone book for the PIA or Big I (Trusted Choice) logos and you will find a professional licensed agent that will be able to help you solve your insurance problems, and give you rate comparisons of several different companies. An independent insurance agent will normally have a dozen different companies and if he cannot help you, he should be networked with other local agents that can. Most of the replies on this site say "go to this on-line carrier or that on-line carrier or that 1-800 number" but I'm sure that when you do, you will find some impersonal computer user with a script to work from and you won't be able to talk with the same person everytime you have a problem! It's an "old wive's tale" that red cars cost more to insure. There MIGHT be a connection, however, as a RED car stansd out more in a crowd than a WHITE car does. A good case in point - my brother had a '68 Camaro RS and it was WHITE with a black vinyl top....and the paint was faded, nasty. Since he had to get it painted anyway, he had it painted Corvette Red! The second day out of the paint shop, he started getting tickets - and when it was white, he never got any! Coincidence? You decide! Good luck, drive RESPONSIBLY and I hope this helps
  6. Regardless of what insurance company you choose the premium will be high. It depends on you ZIP code, his age (most premium are decrease once insured reaches age 25), gender, type of vehicle, e.g., sports package., sedan or coupe.
