Does anyone know of any car insurance companies that allow you to insure with a domestic partner?
My girlfriend and I will be moving in together in August and we're looking for car insurance for our cars. I've tried to do things like the progressive.com quotes and they only allow you to be Single, Married, Divorced, Seperated, and Widowed. We're not any of those things. Do we have to get insurance as two single people? We can't get married here in Wisconsin. Because it would blow if we have to pay twice as much.... Should I be contacting the insurance companies by phone and asking that way? I'm hoping that some of the gay folks around here can have some ideas...

- I would think that you probably can get insurance..I'm canadian..but before marriage was legal here there were many companies who would allow your scenerio...and what company doesn't want to make money....yes call and ask them...what's the worst that they can say..and you can always take your business elsewhere
- Get a gay or lesbian magazine in your area and look in it for gay agents. I have never had a problem. My brother works for an agency and so does my partner. My agent is wonderful and her partner and daughter work for her. Farmers-American Family-State farm; it really depends on your agent not the company.
- I've been insured with Geico for 12 years. My girlfriend has been on my policy for about 5 years. I don't think that they even asked who she was to me, or if they did, it didn't make a difference. Try them.
- Me and my boy friend go through progressive
- I am almost positive the like progressive direct does but i think just about everyone does now a daya
- Farmers, Progressive, Esurance just about all of them do nowdays.
- My partner and I live in Wisconsin and we are insured thru State Farm. I have no clue how they categorize us there, but we've been with them for almost 25 years and everyone in the office knows us as partners and is cool with it.
