Im 19 years old. How can i set up my car insurance so that the price will be reasonable. HELP!?

I just recently sold my car which was an 02 Explorer and i am in the process of signing paperwork for a 05 Acura TL. This is the car i am getting bottom line its too late to go back. Now it is time to insure it but I keep getting outrageous quotes from tons of companies. I have a perfect record. Is there a way i can setup insurance where i have lower full coverage rates. Can i list my parent as the main driver? How do most parents set this up???

  1. You can take defensive driving course that can give you up to %15. You can see if your parents can cover you. Not too much will help though. The only thing is age. But stick to the safe driving.
  2. Get your folks to insure the car in their name and list you as one of the drivers.
  3. If you're the primary driver of the vehicle, you have to list yourself as such. Since you're young, insurance is going to cost more, since you're labeled as "high-risk" Your parents might be able to put you on their insurance, but I assume that they probably have to be listed on the title. But do NOT not get insurance. You could REALLY screw yourself over if you were to get into an accident (even if it wasn't your fault!)
  4. Insurance rates are set by your age, record, automobile type, gender and geographic location. For a young person it can be very expensive, even with a perfect driving record. If you live at home with your parents, you can be listed on their insurance (if student) and just pay mom & dad the difference in the rates they were paying before adding you onto their insurance. If you do not live with your parents then you will have to have your own insurance (unless you are away at college), and the best way to lower your rates is to increase your deductible on the policy, and go with the minimum state requirements on coverage. Alot really depends on your particular circumstance. Being on your parents insurance would be the least expensive.
  5. Josh-- buddy--- you don't want your parents telling you what to do. Your 19...Your a grown man... 2005 Acura is a high dollar car. I really don't see the problem. The car is very espensive and you got lots of monney for expenses like insurance-- chrome wheels-- and engine mods. Why would insurance bother you... If you phoned around that is what it costs and ya pay... Josh one thing you do not want to do is lie on the insurance and commit a felony -- called insurance fraud.... You could ask mommy and daddy for money every month.. Or get a job..
  6. You are 19. You will pay through the nose no matter what. Take the defensive course for a 10% discount for a few years. Next time you go to buy a car, call the insurance agent and ask for an estimate of what that type of car will cost in insurance for you. Don't speed, don't drive recklessly and in a few years you will earn a reduction. Until then, grin and bear it. You are under 25 so a perfect record isn't gonna make much difference. Ask your insurance agent or switch companies. Perhaps someone in your family will put you on their insurance but they would be taking a risk with you.
  7. The insurance will be expensive, but I don't think listing your parents as primary driver will help, as you are getting older and will need your own insurance eventually. The best thing to do would be to get an online insurance quote at http://www.auto-insurance-knowledge.com/24-hour-insurance-quote-auto.html This will compare all companies in your area and find you the companies tat offer the cheapest prices. hope that helps
  8. The best thing to do is try to search it on the net, go for online quotation so that you can compare different car insurance rate. Try to visit this cheap car insurance site http://www.nightbirdssolutions.com evaluate the quotes that you have collected and choose the company that could give you a much cheaper car insurance rate and quality car insurance services.
  9. YOU WILL BY LAW HAVE TO LIVE WITH YOU PARENTS SO THAT YOU CAN RECEIVE THE DISCOUNTS. IF YOU PUT YOUR PARENTS ADDRESS AS YOUR PERMANENT ADDRESS AND LIVE SOMEWHERE ELSE, YOU WILL NOT BE COVERED AND YOU PARENTS YOU MOST LIKELY SUFFER AS WELL. THIS IS CALLED INSURANCE FRAUD AND YOU CAN DEPENDING ON THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND THE STATE FACE BOTH A STEEP FINE ALONG WITH JAIL TIME.
