  1. Dont do it..it is best to go with GEIKO
  2. As long as you have a personal policy you almost surely don't need the rental company insurance. 99% of personal insurance policies cover you and rental cars. Check with your insurance agent just to confirm that, but it will most likely be true. The rental companies love to sell insurance because of the incredible profits they make from them.
  3. Most car rental agencies require a credit card. Alot of 'gold' cards will have rental car insurance provided you used their card. So you will need to check with your credit card company. If you don't have it on your card, it will probably be cheaper to talk to you regular car insurance guy and get a rider for your policy to cover rental cars. The secret is most rental car companies make the majority of their money on the insurance they try to hard sell to you, or if you are foolish enough to buy a tank full of gas from them (fill it up before returning it is always cheaper, unless you plan to siphon off the remaining gas at check in :-) seriously though, check some of the travel sites like Orbits and expedia, I found a killer deal on car rental a couple of years ago, cheaper than calling the companies direct. I have only have one bad car renting experience and it was with Alamo, so I tend to avoid them now.
