Does having a 4 door car or a 2 door car effect your car insurance price?

1. 2 door can be classified as a sports car or coupe and can raise your insurance over a basic 4 door model that is easily classified as a family car. when I was a kid, I paid so much more for my 2 door CRX compared to my 4 door accord, even though the accord had a bigger engine and was faster. 2 seats, 2 doors = HIGH insurance.
2. As your insurance person about specifics. The answers need to be specific. (E.g., a 2-door Corvette vs a 4-door Taurus; or a two-door Impala vs a Maserati Quattroporte?)

4. The two door may be considered a sports car, but you have to ask the insurance guy. There are complex algorythms involved in insurance pricing, that I don't think the people who wrote it understand. The only way to know is to call for some quotes.
