2. I think Progressive and Geico at two of the worst companies I've seen. I personally like Allstate. Their price isn't the lowest, but they recently came out with this program called "Your Choice Auto" which forgives accident, lowers my deductible if I don't have an accident, and gives me a 5% rebate if I don't have a claim. When I have had claims, they didn't just "pay out" to make the claim go away. They were right there fighting for me.
3. I have sued drivers with all of the major insurance companies as their policies, and by far, the absolute worst company is Allstate. They nickle and dime you to death, they lowball you until you are picking a jury, and they appeal everything. I wouldn't use them on principle alone. But if you think it doesn't affect you to have a lowball insurance company, just wait until you have to make your own claim under comp, collision or uninsured motorist.
