  1. seems a little high to me with 6 years no claims, i used confused.com, but then found cheaper prices on individual sites like esure, churchill, direct line even the AA site, i know its a pain but look at those sites because confused.com does not cover everyone. hope this helps
  2. sounds about right to me it varies wildly in individual cases it also varies on the amount of service you get -such as courtesy car windscreen cover protected no claims bonus and voluntary excess
  3. it depends on a lot of factors so I can't recommend you one. You have to shop around. It depends on the car, your age, how long you have been driving etc.... Try websites that offer lots of quotes like www.confused.com or www.moneysupermarket.com
  4. That sounds about right i think, I just did a confused.com search and found the cheapest anywhere about the same price as yours but with more no claims and a bigger car. I hadnt heard of most of the companies it bought up on the search though which was a bit scary.
  5. Dont be afraid to haggle. If you have 6yrs no claims you are a good risk play one company off against the other get a quote from one and see if another company can better it. Be pushy. Most of these comparison websites work as agents if they promote you to one insurer they get commission. You can get as well if not better by contacting them directly. It means more work but may be cheaper. Swift cover are supposed to be cheap,
  6. It varies of course, what is the best and least costly for me might be the highest for you. Best thing in my opinion is to find an independent agent who isn't pushing one company, give him your information and let him do the search of his data base to find your best deal.
  7. When looking for a cheap car insurance provider dont stick for only one quotes, you must collect a lot of them so that you can compare different car insurance rate. You can try to visit this cheap car insurance site http://www.nightbirdssolutions.com evaluate the quotations that you have collected and choose the company that could give you a much cheaper car insurance rate and quality car insurance services.
  8. I got my insurance through the PostOffice only because they were offering £50 cash back. They have stopped that but are now giving you a FREE months insurance. So you pay for 11 mnths & get 12.Try them.
  9. There are too many factors for anyone to say whether the price is OK. You should also consider what cover and excess you have and if the company provides good customer service. My (biased) advice would be to contact an insurance broker locally, tell them your circumstances and what you want and they'll recommend the most suitable policy to meet your requirements. You may pay slightly more but this is well worth it as you have had the benefit of professional advice rather than relying on tittle-tattle from uninformed correspondents on forums! If you need to make a claim they will also help you with that.
  10. You might want to try someone like moneysupermarket too. There's always going to be certain insurers not quoted with each different comparison site. Best to try several of them to make sure you cover as many companies as possible. Sounds like a pretty average price to me, not going to be able to shave too much off it :) always worth a try though, just be careful to check what features your getting with each prospective policy, a cheaper policy might simply be offering you less cover :)
