Right, I'm 20 and I'm fixing to buy my first vehicle. What american vehicles (Yes, I'm bias. Live with it) would you recommend that would keep insurance costs low? I'm none too concerned about maintenance of the vehicle because I've got tools and I am very handy with them, so I should be able to find my way around the engine, fuel system, electrical system and all that. I make $7 an hour and I'm pulling in around $300 or so with every paycheck, just thought knowing my budget would help.

- check out an older cavalier...or sunfire maybe. if you want a truck, stick w/ chevy, they're the best quality, domestic or foreign. good luck in your hunt.
- Just a little information for you the only car company to completely assemble their cars in the u.s. is cadillac and cheverolet makes the corvette only in the u.s. Now as far as a domestic car I would suggest an older ford they are easy to work on and as long as you take care of them they will last a while. When I say older I mean late 80's. Look for the bigger cars or small trucks. I.E. crown victoria (car) ranger (truck). I personally have an 87 ranger with 315,000 miles on it I spent 400 dollars on a rebuild kit 8 years ago and have put a new clutch in it. I have owned it since 1998. I hope this helps. One thing though making the money you do I would worry about gas and domestics are not the way to go.
- How about a small dodge or Chevy pick-up. If you use it for work and work out of it it can help you when tax season comes around to. Plus a sports car insurance is really big especially for a guy your age.

- I do not no if it is the same today,But it used to be that 4 door cars with small engines were the least costly when it came to insurance. I world be on the lookout for something like : Dodge Neon(4 dr) Chevy Cavalier (4dr) (I ounce had a neon......Hardly gave me any problems and was very cheap to operate)
- Can't help you. You're not willing to listen to GOOD advice, which is: Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, etc etc
