can i find out someones car insurance company?

a lady hit my car back in march of this year. she agreed to pay for the damage but then moved out and skipped town. well the police finaly found her but the problem is i dont know her insurance company. i have her full name, and her vehicle vin number. i dont want to claim it on my insurance so my rates go up, thats nuts. so i need to find her insurance company so i can file it with hers! anyway i can do this?

1. You can't. But what you can do, take her to small claims court. Add in the cost of finding her, time off from work, any costs involved, and get 3 large estimates. You will win in court and she will be made to pay you.

The only way to find out her insurance company would be to file a vehicle accident report with the dmv and request her information but when you renew your policy, that report will show and your premium will possibly go up. My premium didn't go up after I was hit, it depends on your insurance company if it was the first and only incident.
3. not without the police helping you,just having her name wont help you very much,you,ll have to get someone that knows her or can get to her insurance policy to get this information,id let the police handle this part of it,just having her mane wont give the name of the company she has,if she has any ,i hope she does,other wise you,ll wind up repairing your own car,good luck with it.
