car insurance company is suing me from an accident 2 years ago?
i wont go into immediate details. there were 3 people and that girl that is suing me grabbed my wheel causing me to crash into a barricade. i didn't tell the first police what happened because i didnt want to get her in trouble. but i did tell the insurance company when it was time to do the claim. the 2 two people that were in the car were also hurt. and they believe that she did grab the wheel. one was awake and the other was sleeping. anyways, i get a letter saying that ive exceeded my 15,000 limit. i dont deserve to get sued. because i didnt cause the accident. this girl that grabbed my wheel is suing me. .

- Exceeding your limit has nothing to do with being sued
- Contact your insurance company, they should be able to tell you what to do, you can't really stop someone from trying to sue you but contacting the ins. co. and a lawyer could make the outcome in your favor
- Get an attorney asap; you're going to need one in order to defend yourself against the girl who grabbed the wheel. Since she's suing you, I assume she's going to deny grabbing it, so I hope the other party was awake enough to witness the event. Good luck (I think you're going to need it!)!!
- If you are in the UK then there is a 6 year window in which you can be sued. Pass ALL the correspondence on the insurance company you were with at the time of the accident - that is if you were fully comprehensively insured & they will sort it. If not fully comp insurance you must go to a solicitor or you could be ripped off big time - try to get a a no win no fee deal
- So, who's insurance company is suing you? YOUR company is off the hook, when they pay out the limit - that would be the $15,000. You need a lawyer. You need someone who is going to defend you, and at the same time countersue this girl for any bodily injury SHE caused you and the other people in the car. You're right, you don't deserve to get sued over this, but she's obviously a money-hungry jerk. So, you need to hire a lawyer, on a contingency basis, to countersue. I don't recommend hiring a lawyer often, but you need one.
- id say u need a lawyer..most give a free consult... but...dont ignore it... it the best way to fight it is sue her for causing wreck...but u cant win because u lied about who caused it...you r in trouble..
- Contact your insurance company, they will both advise you and get you an attorney if you need one. It doesn't matter HOW it happened, you are responsible for what happens in your car. I'm sure the attorneys will bring up that she was at least partially responsible for her own damages, if it ever gets to court.
- What your insurance company means when they say that you have exceeded your limit is that the amount of money paid out for medical bills regarding this accident exceeds the limit of coverage on your insurance policy. The girl can sue you if your insurance policy will no longer cover the cost of the medical bills from that accident. Depending on what state you are in she can also file a claim under her insurance policy for a personal injury claim. You should probably call your insurance company and ask to speak with an adjuster to see if they have any options for you.
