what is the best car to get for low insurance when you are 17 please?

im just stuck for choices. i need a car for about 500-700 pound and insurance that will cost me about 1700 pound at most please help

1. Stick to a small engine, like a Corsa, Clio and similar, for cheaper insurance and cheaper road tax
2. be very lucky to get insurance at that price.sadly due to amount of fraud and payouts for personal injuries all car insurances are going through roof. ( we cant be racist and blame immigration even if figures bear out they tend to be main source of problems in this area) all you can do is look at a very low powered car eg 1000cc or lower. keep it parked off road and ideally garaged every night live in a safe area? etc try and get a year or two experience on mum or dads car too as this may? count in some cases to a smaller premium. car anti theft can help . not easy a 17 year old round here got a corsa 1.0L and it was £2700 for insurance.

Hi, Do you NEED or WANT a car? have you considered a Moped/Scooter? these are transport, very cheap insurance (below £300), cheap to buy (brand new ones with registration documents from £500 easily found on google/yahoo/ask), cheap to run and i mean very very cap on fuel and tax. If you still wish to have a car for that much try a ford escort, vauxhall corsa (old shapes) or a ford fiesta, these are all reliable, cheap to run and easy to find spares for cheaply but expect around £1000-£1500 for insurance and dont forget tax.
