Where is a good place to buy a cheap car? And what is the best insurance?

I am looking for an affordable car, maybe a toyota corolla or ford focus. My price range is $3000-5500. Where should I search at? dealerships, online, ect. I also need to buy my own car insurance if anyone knows of a cheap place to find it. Thanks!

1. try looking on craigslist.com i got my mustang 96 cobra convertible for 3000 and there are many more great deals! ..... Geico is really affordable unlike every where else... i tryed looking at other places for insurance and omg let me tell you some places wanted more then i payed for my car!
