What is the best car insurance for a decent price?

I'm 19 and I will be getting my first car soon, and I have to look for insurance. Which insurance is the best and has a decent monthly cost?

  1. You really need to just call around. There are many factors. Some places will be super expensive and others will be fairly cheap. Know what kind of coverage you want. I know that people tell you to check online. There are sites you can go to that compare different places and give you quotes, or you can go to individual sites to get quotes (allstate, progressive, etc.) but I would HIGHLY recommend calling these places and talking to somebody. I recently helped my sister (she is also 19 and just got her first car) find car insurance. What was quoted online for different sites was way more than what I was quoted when I actually called the company. Get some numbers, make some calls. You will have to do most of the work yourself, but it will be well worth it. I saved my sister over $800 for the year by calling around because the websites quotes us too much. Good luck!!
  2. generally speaking i have found that AAA auto insurance has the lowest prices for all coverages and i have insured vehicles in ca., la., tx., fl., ma., az., n.y...
  3. they are all the same and all different. If you even search YA on this, you will see that your question gets asked 25 times a day every day. And it always gets the same answers.
  4. Have you tried http://www.comparecheapmotorinsurance.solutionsarticles.com/?id=m3y227 they have a very decent monthly cost and are the best.
  5. For car insurance the best way to get a low quote is do a policy comparison on auto policies. Make sure that you pick similar policies with the same deductibles, car model, location, etc so that all options are an accurate comparison. What I usually recommend is an internet comparison quote at http://www.lowratetoday.com since they have top name insurers and will give several prices on auto insurance polices.
  6. It is hard to say without more information. I can tell you one thing though -- since you are a male, and 19, your rates will be higher than usual. As you probably already know, male teen drivers are seen as the highest risk drivers, thus their insurance costs more. Your best bet is to go online and compare some companies in your area, or contact some "big name" insurance companies.
  7. babette, Try getting an online insurance quote It's free and generally hassle free. http://www.simpleautoquotes.com/Auto-Insurance.html Good Luck!
  8. Allianz offers quite good insurances for not a bad price. This is what my family uses. Alos make sure that you visit other companies and visit websites for the quotes, so you can compare offers.
  9. In my opinion USAA - the prices are very good, the service is good (as everywhere nothing is perfect)so it is worth having a look at.
  10. autoinsurance.undonet.com - check this one. As I remember they have lowest car insurance rates for teens and young drivers.
