cheap car insurance for students?

I live in south FL, 20 years old, full time college student. High GPA (good student discount) and clean driving record, also good credit. Please advise on low cost car insurance companies.

  1. Walking or bus pass.
  2. Cheap car insurance and the word students do not go together because statistically you're more likely to have an accident than any other single group. I'd have a chat to that damn GEICO gecko for car insurance. He seems to know a thing or two.
  3. ive got state farm and only pay $86/month for my car and i fit the same requirements you do
  4. I have essurance. it's not too bad.
  5. There are several things you can do to keep the costs as low as possible. First, several companies offer comparisons on insurance rates on the web, so start there. You might be able to get some guidance at your college, since you cannot possibly be the only person there looking for help with insurance. Try student government or student activities offices to begin the search. Finally, you can keep costs down by purchasing only what is required by law. Skip comprehensive and collision coverages, which run up the bill. True, you will have to pay the entire cost to replace your own car if it is stolen or if you are in an accident, but the insurance bill will be much lower. Only you can decide whether the risk is worth it.
  6. state farm or progressive
  7. Try Gieco or Progressive
  8. the best way of doing that is get on your parents policy and you pay them your share of the insurance.
  9. You're in college.....are you sure? There is no such thing as cheap car insurance. Reality sucks, huh?
  10. If you are a student looking for student car insurance, theres a lot of things you can do to make it cheap. its a good thing you have high GPA because you may be eligible with good student discount (not all insurance companies offer this so you have to ask them). Good credit rating and clean driving record helps a lot too for lowering car insurance. Here are some things that can help you too. 1. Its a lot cheaper if you are added to your parents policy if you still live with them. 2. enroll in defensive driving class to get more discount 3. install safety feature in your car 4. drive less to get low mileage discount 5. shop and compare quotes- this is the best thing you can do so you can decide which company offer the best quotes for students
  11. LOLOL! You are in the highest risk group there is! Your insurance will be higher, because of this!
  12. I wouldn't go cheap because if you are in a bad accident you are in trouble. You will not have decent coverage. I would to with State Farm and try to get the lowest rate you can. If you get pathetic insurance and have an accident you will be sorry!!
  13. Car insurance is really expensive as a student. I am 20 as well and although my rates went down, I still can't really afford my insurance (I have State Farm). I finally decided to take the bust to class and around town and have my husband drive me if he needs to or get rides from friends. It will be cheaper when I'm done with school next year!
  14. safeauto or AIG right now(really cheap) or you can just drive without. A ticket here is only $75, and thats a whole lot cheaper than paying monthly
  15. The company is called "Don't Drive."
  16. Is it just me or is Y!A froze?
  17. Walking or bus pass
  18. why dont' you try a online service, where you can compare various quotes of insurance, there are plenty, i just googled it and found a free one for you - http://www.free-auto-quote.com/
  19. For auto insurance the most efficient way to get a low rate is do a policy comparison on car policies. Make sure that you pick similar policies with the same limits, auto type, location, etc so that all options are a good comparison. What I usually recommend is an online comparison quote at http://www.lowratetoday.com since they have top name insurers and can give many quotes on car insurance polices.
  20. I have met similiar kind of problem before, here http://www.Autoinsurancepro.info/auto-insurance-free.htm is the resource that I feel helpful..
  21. Here is what you suppose to do: 1. You should obtain multiple car insurance quotes online. Here are just one of these sites, I’m sure there are many more: http://www.cj.24by7info.com/car_insurance.html 2. Even if you’ll find some attractive rates online, do not rush to sing in. Keep these numbers in mind and call your local insurance broker. Describe your situation to him and wait for his numbers. 3. Compare all quotes you’ll get online and from your broker and make your mind. However still do not rush to sing in. 4. You have to know that company, which is offering you a good rate is indeed a reputable company. www.AMbest is an independent rater of all insurance companies. If company, which is offering you good quotation is rated A or higher by AM best it is a good company. If it’s rated below A, I’d think twice before signing with them.
  22. gieco, progressive... the first 6 months might seem high but there rate drop after the first 6 month period Also, a good resource is... http://insurance.deal4-you.com Best of luck to you.
