Will my Car Insurance rates go up for 1 speeding ticket?

I just got a speeding ticket this morning (66mph in a 50). I have a really good record. Will my insurance go up? I have State Farm in Ohio. Thanks!

  1. Likely, yes, just because it is State Farm and they have the reputation for penalizing people whenever they can. However, it can depend on a few factors including your age and how long it has been since your last ticket.
  2. dont worry it wont go up! it would just go up if you got accident. so as of now.just relax and drive safe. i got hella tickets. my insurance price still the same. so relax and enjoy driviing. dont go overspeeding anymore take your time and leave early that's the best solution. hehehe.lol.
  3. For car insurance the obvious way to get a very good rate is do a rate comparison on auto policies. Make sure that you pick similar policies with the same deductibles, auto type, zip code, etc so that all things are an accurate comparison. What I most often recommend is an online comparison quote at http://www.lowratetoday.com since they have top name insurers and can give multiple quotes on car insurance polices.
  4. If you just have one speeding ticket I don't think it will go up. It will go up if you continue to get tickets. At least that is what I have heard. You may want to ask your insurance company. Just slow down and drive safe because if you get into a car accident and its your at fault your insurance will definitely go up. I know that from experience. So please slow down and drive safe. : )
  5. Unlikely. I have had State Farm for years and a few tickets and accidents along the way. Unless you have multiple tickets or costly accidents, they are the best company I have seen. Rate increases due to a ticket are mostly from the "cheap" companies.
  6. yup! sorry
  7. It seems a not easy cracking nut, look around here http://www.Autoinsurancepro.info/auto-insurance-free.htm ,you should find something helpful.
  8. It depends if point on your driving record increases your auto insurance in your state. In Some states insurance companies do not even run DMV records. So, call your agent and ask. Take traffic school to keep the points off your DMV record so your premium does not increase. Call and ask your agent.
  9. probably so.. my brother was 19 at the time he did that, and his insurance went up $40 extra....... i guess it all depends on the insurance company
  10. Yes, it will. If it's your first, check with the court and see if traffic school is available to you. It definitely costs more than just paying the ticket, yet if you get to do it, it will keep the ticket off your driving record and save your insurance premium.
