- As a general rule the lower the car insurance class the lower the premium. You can also do other things to lower the premium, get the driver to do a pass plus. Also if the car is only going to be used thought the day get a time limited insurance policy that allows the car to be driven only through the day. Ja.
- It's usually much cheaper to be a named driver on a parent's insurance (your parents will have their own car so need never drive yours). There are policies which will let you gain no-claims bonus for this.
- based on your age, high risk so very expensive, think £50-75 per month or more, also depends on car engine size etc
- this is one of those "get quotes' questions. the big guys-nationwide. Allied, Progressive-are the ones to call first. any company with a S&P or AM Best rating of at least b+ will be okay. if teen has GPA of 3.5 or better, that's a discount, as is driver's ed with most companies. If the child has their own car, it may be cheaper to have a second policy for them and exclude them from yours.
- You should be aware of Scammers. They look like insurance sites, instead they'll just take your money. Most people know about the Verisign logo, ABA, BBB and State's insurance Department websites, but many just get ripped off, so beware. To save money, you should buy an oldish car, pay cash for it so you own it. This way you can get Liability only cover. This means you are legally covered if you cause damage others but if you damage your car and it's your fault you'll get zilch for it. It won't matter since you bought an oldish car to get experienced on, and trust me you'll thank me for this as damage you will do! We all did :) Anyway, that's the cheapest cover. To find the cheapest insurer, search around a lot and get tons of quotes, then go for the cheapest one. Being careful about scammers as I mentioned above. This is where I go to http://www.autoinsuranceproviders.esuperfind.com?id=w2m9 or even http://www.moneysavecenter.com/index.html?id=sthth They are similar sites in that you just input your details and they'll search around amongst main insurance carriers and then they'll give you multiple results. Each of those two will search for different insurers so by spending a little time you get to have a fairly wide price spectrum, I think they cover about 20 carriers between the them. It's all free. Good luck.
- There are lots of places where you can get a free insurance quote. http://www.simpleautoquotes.com/Auto-Insurance.html It only takes less than 10 minutes to do.
