Best Cost Car Insurance

Does this sound like the right price for car insurance?

Since im in school full time my mom usually likes to help out by paying for my car insurance but she hasnt paid for awhile now and I got a fee for not having the car registered with insurance. I've just been driving her car in the mean time but she everytime I ask about my car she says she'll call the next day but doesnt. She told me why though supposedly is because they jacked my car insurance up to $2000 a year. Does that sound right for a 19 year old male with a 94' ford Thunderbird?I've only had one previous ticket two years ago going 15 mph over. Would that jack the price up that much or do you think my mom just doesnt want to pay anymore. I dont care to pay for it anymore, it's cool with me but is that how much car insurance is now adays ? And that is for only Liability coverage through Metlife

1. Sounds about right for a 19 year old male with a speeding ticket at 17 years old.

4. I think the price will vary between $1000 and $4000 depending on the amount of time you intend to spend searching around for cheaper insurance, that's all it is.
