Will Vandalism affect my Car Insurance rates?
My car was vandalized last night, they ripped off a piece on the back and cracked the bumper in the front. If I make a claim with my insurance company will this affect my rates? It wasn't a collision, the upper "fin" at the top of the rear window was ripped off, and the front bumper was yanked out and cracked about a foot from the edge.

- any claim effects insurance its like house insurance
- It all depends on your insurance company. Most of the cheep companies (Geiko, e-insurance, etc...) make price hikes on about everyone who files a claim. Other more established companies (Allstate, State Farm, etc...) are much more understanding and rarely raise premiums for something like what happened to you. What you should check is your deductible. If your deductible is $1000 and you have about $1000 damage it isn't worth reporting anyways.
- Theoretically no, but in reality, multiple vandalism claims will cause you to get cancelled. But what you are describing, sounds like COLLISION, not vandalism. It sounds like someone hit the back of your car, and maybe pushed it into another car. Collision and vandalism look WAY different, and an adjuster will be able to tell the difference.
- Try to deal it out of pocket, otherwise insurance rates will go up much more. You can check how quotes will change here - autoinsurance.noneto.com
