Is this a good car insurance quote for a new driver?
I am a 16 year old male living in the heavily populated upper middle class suburbs of central Hartford County CT. I just got an insurance quote, and I want to know if it is good. The car- 1973 Volkswagen Beetle, completely stock, 90% original, great condition, was recently offered $5500 at a car show. Coverage- You name it, it's there Mileage Cap- 10K Deductable- $250 Quote- $372/yr ($31/mo) Is this good for a 16 year old male new driver? I know my father, who has been driving for 45 years and has a clean driving record, is paying $650/yr for his beater take-to-Home-Depot-and-get-a-bag-of... car, a 1996 Ford Explorer with the exact same coverage, so I am guessing my quote is pretty good. Some car specs: -Horsepower- 46 -Lbft Torque- 72 -Weight- 1830lbs -Displacement- 1594cc -Transmission- 4spd manual -Top Speed- 81mph -Does not have: power steering, power brakes, airbags What do you guys think of $372 a year for a new driver with a 73 Volkswagen?
