1. I personally don't trust 'em. I had enough trouble as an agent keeping up with 3 or 4 companies' rates; there's no way to know if the web site is current or not with possibly dozens of companies. Try calling some agents/companies direct.
2. Well, the vast majority are "bait" quotes. They're actually harvesting your personal information, and selling it to agents as leads. Plus, those quotes are bait - if you actually try to buy the insurance, you'll then get a REAL rate, reflecting actual tickets and accident and credit score, not "best possible". There's no short cut. Your best bet is to call a few local agents, and get quotes. An independent agent represents multiple companies, and can get several quotes for you at once.
