What is the best manual transmission car to purchase for a 16 year old regarding low insurance cost? When it comes to auto insurance (state of California) which car would be best to purchase used or new for a 16 year old which would be a manual transmission. We all know insurance for a minor is outragous and we would like to train our young adult on a stick first so they know how to drive both stick and automatic in their adult life. What car do you think new or used would be the best on auto insurance? Please be specific on the make and model of the car? Thank in advance for your answers
What things can a teen do to help lower the cost of car insurance? I'm sixteen and seventh months, and plan on getting my license in about two months. But money is a little tight now at my house, and when my brother got his license on his sixteenth birthday (two years ago) the car insurance my parents pay for jumped an extra 1200 dollars a year. So what can a teen do to lower the cost? IE; what type of car should I be driving, the best time to get my license, etc. I'm willing to hear any ideas. :) Oh and if it means anything, my parents are with State Farm. Thanks in advance for the help.
What is the best car with low insurance costs and the best safety rating for a young 17 yr old learner driver? I am looking to buy a new, or possibly up to about 3 year old, car for my daughter, soon to be 17, to learn to drive in. The car will be in her name and so I'm looking for something safe, but also as inexpensive to insure as possible. Has anyone gone through this process recently and so can provide me with any experiences or advice generally?
What car can I get for the lowest car insurance? I don't care how old or what car I just want to know which car gets the lowest insurance cost for a 16 year old.
Is it true that the older the car, the lower the insurance cost? My dad has a car that is 4 years old, it is a subaru outback, with 200,000+miles on it (not a typo, he drives it all over the eastern coast). Now would the subarus insurance cost(total) be lower than if i bought my own used car?

What kind of car details will lower the cost of insurance? I have to buy a car and the insurance will be costing more than the actual car. Some factors I can't change like the fact it will be my first year with a full GB licence, my gender, age, where I park it, etc. But when considering the car I will buy, what factors might lower my insurance costs? Keeping in mind my price range for the car is 450-900 pounds, - what makes/models are hardest/easiest to break into? - what security devices would make a difference to the cost of my insurance, and how much would they cost? - what year of car is considered to be built more securely than in the past? (harder to break into...I understand older cars are easier to break into, but what is the general cut-off line of "old"?) - style or colour of car? - any other factors?
under £1000 car, low insurance group, fuel effieient, help? I'm looking to get myself a car for one year as soon as i pass my test so i can get a no claims bonus. what car would be best to buy (used) what year (reliable or not too difficult to keep maintained by me alone.) It needs to have a low monthly running cost and be almost guaranteed to survive without major (>150) parts replacement over the year. and it needs to be in a low insurance group.
Best car for a 17 year old male in terms of low insurance costs!? My budget for the car is around £6000 and i was wondering what anyone could recommend as a good first car for me. It needs to be fairly cheap on insurance, with a small engine!
Decent looking vehicle, good gas mileage, low car insurance? &Where to find good car insurance rates?? I filled out a couple quotes from esurance.com and allstate and i got like $2100 & $4100 premium 6 month payment. Does that mean its going to cost me that much for insurance for only 6 months? If so, that is insane. That would be $350-$750 dollars a month. That cannot be real. My dad gave me a quote from Allstate(thats what he has) and it was about $117.00/Mth for a Chevy Blazer for 18 Year Old First Driver. I am very new to the whole insurance thing so can someone just point me in a small direction to the lowest priced insurance with good plans. I would absolutely love to have an older car(oldsmobile, or between 60s&80s)But thats way to pricy, along with a nice sports vehicle. Because of the gas mileage and decent look, i would like a Chevy Convert Tracker. Just give me some advice if you know what im talking about. :) Thanks Much xox Brittany xox Excuse me for the mistake above. My fathers quote was from State farm(thats what he has).

Low cost Flight Travel insurance? Now all the low cost company's are charging extras for almost everything... I saw on my last Easy Jet booking that Flight insurance was an extra 15 quid... I didn't take it, so does that mean I'm not insured ( for my family) if the plane crashes. I thought it was obligatory for the company to insure its passengers as with 3rd party Car insurance... or is this just another money making scam ?
How do you lower car insurance costs for young people? My 18-year-old son's car insurance is going through the roof. It just jumped from $270 to $321/ month. He's a college student living in Tampa, FL (40 miles from home address in Largo, fL), makes good grades, took driver's ed in high school, has been driving 2 years and never had a ticket. It's a new car (Mazda 3) that's titled to my husband, but all 3 of us are on the policy. My husband and I are on a separate policy for our cars. Anyone have any suggestions on how to bring this number down? My husband had 2 back-to-back accidents last year that were found to be the other driver's fault and was paid 100% by the other driver's insurance (including our deductible). Also, we had a claim on my son's old car when someone hit it while it was legally parked on the street, and then ran. I had a quote of $261 from Traveler's until they questioned these claims, then they bumped it to $331/ month. I guess they count against us, even though they weren't our fault?
I am a 20 yr old male looking for car insurance?? Car planning to purchase: 2004/2005 Acura TL. Any low cost insurance companies I could go with? Thanks.
what would the best car to get for low insurance? I am 20 (21 in 5 weeks.) and am hoping to get my licence within the next few months and want to know what would be a good low insurance car, I looked at getting a 1.2 fiat punto and fully comp was £700 for a year I then looked at a 1 leter nisan micra and it was over £1000 for a year, this is suprising at how much more it is as its a smaller engine, so are there any other young drivers out there that could recomend a good first car that wont cost me loads to insure????

I was looking at BMW 325i, Jeep Cherokee, and Mitshubishi Montero... each costing around 2500 for full coverage. What car brand or type would have a relatively low insurance cost for my age and gender group?

Health Insurance & Portability between jobs? Health insurance has been a topic of conversation on YA. Many support it, many are against it. Currently the insurance industry is one of the most government regulated institutions in the USA. Their are federal and state laws that govern health insurance and make it a buracratic nightmare. Our current auto insurance system allows for competition between companies on a national level. Keeping our insurance costs lows. If I leave my job, my car insurance stays with me. Current regulations state that I must have a job to be offered health insurance. I leave this job, I lose my insurance and must use COBRA for up to 12 to 18 months to keep my coverage. Why can't I buy my own health insurance and have it be portable across state lines like car insurance? It seems to me that fixing these types of problems with healthcare is more affordable than implementing a national healthcare system. There is low cost car insurance, why not low cost health? Civil - I read up on this web site that you mentioned. This is only for individuals who are self employed or own small businesses. First question they will ask is if you have a job that offers insurance. If the answer is yes, you have to go through them. So while this is a valid site, it doesn't answer my question.

Car Insurance in California? Anyone know a good low cost auto insurance company in California? Someone w/ a suspended licsence that is now released?
How much is basic basic basic insurance going to cost me? First time car buyer, first time driver, etc? I'm 18, I've never owned a car, credit, insurance or anything. I've been living on my own for the last 6 months (moved out of parents house) and finally have enough to buy a car. However, I somehow was quoted $712/mo @ Allstate (online), and I'm definitely not paying that much for a car that's only worth just under $1,500... that's insane. I'd rather walk then pay that crap. What do you suggest I do to get a lot lower insurance rate ($150~ and under a month, 200 tops)? If it's oddly possible or somewhat rare of a possibility to get those rates in my condition, then I'm just going to get a motorcycle. I got quoted $124/mo for insurance on a 600cc. I want one more anyway. Somewhat sidetracked but, back to the question. How can I lower that? My mom said she might switch to Nationwide, since she lives in another state, and register my vehicle in her name so I can get the price she pays ($89/mo)...
cheap car insurance for students? I live in south FL, 20 years old, full time college student. High GPA (good student discount) and clean driving record, also good credit. Please advise on low cost car insurance companies.
Car Insurance - Do I have to pay it all at once? It's that time...I'm looking at cars. But as a student, I'm trying to keep costs low because currently I don't have tons of money. What I'm wondering is, for the car insurance, do I have to pay it all at one time or could I pay it in monthly installments?
What do you think she should do, get a GED or stay in school.? Let me start off with the details. My fiance is 16 and pregnant as a freshman in Highschool. The issue is if she should stay in school or not. I am 18, a dropout and I do work. I am getting my GED asap for a better job. I've compiled a list of positives that would help with getting a GED now and getting a full time job. Moving in together and getting married = Support, lower childcare cost, lower health insurance cost, lower car insurance cost, lower gas cost, more money, lower health insurance for the baby, lower cost for the baby, lower rent, lower food cost. Now when I say lower gas prices or rent, I mean that with two incomes. The situation now, if I don't move in and get married. I have to pay for childcare cost on my own. I have to pay for child health insurance on my own. I have to pay gas on my own. I have to pay for a place to live on my own and the baby. I have to pay for car insurance on my own. I have to pay for food on my own. I cant get help from uncle sam. I know she would not get a full education but I cannot provide an income for me and the child on my own. I think life would be a little easier if she was able to get a full time job and make some money. Now this is all beggining next year after this school year. She is having the baby in the summer. If she drops out now her insurance is canceled and the maternity insurance will not be covered. I have to pay health insurance when the baby is born because the baby is not covered under her fathers insurance. As the education goes. I would not allow her to dropout without getting her GED. That is a priority if she does. Can people give me the negatives is the question and does my idea sound reasonable? argh I mean at the end of this school year not the begginning of the next year. Sorry "you should have thought about that before having sex," What do I look like to you a 13 year old? I do use I alot but that is too symbolize that I would have to do everything financial on my own. Instead of we you know? We were already engaged before this happened. Yes you can get engaged young. 50% of marriages end in divorce what does age matter in this day and age. It's deffintly "Not" the popular thing to do. The situation popped up and we do love each other very much. I can't wait for my life to start with her. I am very much excited. We really are trying to find other options though. P.S. adoption and abortion is 110% out of the question. Even if it is easier without the baby. I am not that type of man.
Around how much would my car insurance be? Im an 18 year old girl who passed her test last year. I am getting a ford Ka for about £1500. How much would this sort of insurance cost? Im going to get a quote but Id just like to know in general. How low do you reckon I could get it for?
Which car has the lowest cost of ownership? If you add up purchase price, gas, oil, insurance, etc,etc over a five year period, which car is cheapest?
I cant decide on which car i want..? Which one would you take on these conditions: -Good comfortable ride -Gas mileage in town (around 20mpg) -Resell value is good -low Maintenance -lower cost of insurance -Good Technology Cars I am thinking about (spending: 20,000): -Mini Cooper S Convertible 2003-2005 -Acura TL 2005-06 -Civic Si 4 door (2007-08) -Acura RSX type S (2004-06) -300c Chrysler (2005) Any help would be appreciated !!
car insurance question? i turned 25 years old on july first my last ticket (failure to stop) fell off at the end of august (from 5 years ago.) I have not been in a car accident in 7years or even pulled over in 5 years. there should be nothing on my insurance that will inflate my premium, if anything it should drop. here are my questions: 1. does your insurance really drop a lot after you turn 25? 2. would you suggest upping my deductible to $1,000 instead of $500 to lower it? 3. any other suggestions with lowering the cost of insurance? i have to have full insurance until march of next year when i pay off my car loan. thank you!! oh and who would you suggest i look into for insurance?
Why do libs think health care is a right? What next, car insurance? How about free food for everyone? Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of 'Free' Health Care Every new 'right' the U.S. government has promised has turned into a massively expensive failure, yet the media continue to cheer supporters of tax-funded programs. Americans are obsessed with rights. We always have been. But the concept of rights our forefathers laid out in the Declaration of Independence has changed dramatically. Those rights – life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness – were acknowledged to come from the Almighty, given equally to all people. Today’s rights come from Almighty Government. Health care is the newest “right.” From presidential candidates’ universal plans to the return of HillaryCare to Michael Moore’s movie “Sicko,” it’s all over the media. Calling it a “right” is an emotional argument advanced by those who want others to pay for their health care. They bring out the children and ask whether anyone can deny them the “basic human right” of health care – but don’t bother with the evidence showing how health care in this country would be harmed by government control. A look at other modern “rights” might give us a clue about how well a new system would work. These rights started out as privileges, among them education and a paid retirement. Now education is not only considered a right, it’s a mandate. How well has it worked? American students attend school at least until their teen years, but 15-year-olds ranked 24th out of 29 countries in aptitude for “real-life math problems,” according to The Washington Post. Literacy surveys suggest one in five American adults is functionally illiterate. And taxpayers keep shelling out money to fund the system. Americans also cherish the right to retire – but we expect to be supported in our old age. Younger workers and employers are forced to support retirees, funding another right. And how well has that worked? The poorly designed, outdated Social Security system is disintegrating rapidly as the number of retirees balloons. But once you’ve established a right, it’s difficult to take it away. The government, which promises such rights, must go to its sugar daddy – taxpayers – to keep the rights coming. We’re already well on our way toward the health care right/mandate. Want to be more like Canada? It’s not that far off. Cato’s Michael Cannon has pointed out that third parties in America pay 86 cents of every dollar of our health care – about the same as Canada’s socialized system. What we – or rather, those third parties – pay for health care is already determined by the government as well. Emory University medical professor Robert Swerlick has noted that “the pricing of medical care in this country is either directly or indirectly dictated by Medicare.” This market meddling even causes doctor shortages, he says, in needed areas of specialty. Prescription drugs are already considered a right, thanks to political moves like the Medicare drug benefit and massive media support. A Business & Media Institute study found broadcast journalists treating prescription drugs as though they grew on trees. Overall, the coverage supported the idea that medications should magically be available to everyone at far lower costs. Of course, the magic behind new “rights” is your money. Cannon and fellow Cato expert Michael Tanner explained problems with tax-funded care in their book “Healthy Competition: What’s Holding Back Health Care and How to Free It.” If health care is guaranteed to everyone, how much does everyone get? Who decides who receives what, and how would the care be administered? What happens if everyone wants the most expensive treatment available? “With the wide variety of medical tests and treatments that consumers may claim as their right, someone at some point must decide where the right to health care ends, lest the nation be bankrupted,” they wrote. We’re well on our way toward that as well. Our “rights” to Social Security and Medicare devour about 40 percent of the federal budget. State and local property tax revenue, which normally funds education, mushroomed about 35 percent between 2000 and 2005, according to the Tax Foundation. We can’t afford any more “rights” like that. But the left says tax-funded care is right for the children. Meanwhile, what becomes of them? They’re growing up in an America where the “rights” mentality is deeply ingrained, and the media continue to feed them with it. When the children come of age, perhaps they’ll want the right to a job. They won’t remember that France already tested that idea for us, and it led to high unemployment and rioting. Perhaps they’ll guarantee Disney vacations for all families and force childless Americans to pay for it. “The pursuit of” will conveniently fade away as they look to government to guarantee happiness. They will know less and less of a true right – liberty – and have no idea where it comes from.
Cheapest Car Insurance for a 2005 Honda Accord? I'm paying way too much with Allstate, I'm 25 and I have a perfect driving record. I'm looking to find a low-cost alternative - any recommendations?

Anyone work for an car insurance company or experience? Please help.? Okay this is my situation. My mom and I have a car, that is in my name alone. I don't drive the car because I simply don't have the money to pay for the high insurance costs. My mom paid for insurance in her name to drive the car. She was listed as an operator. They still put my name on it because the car was in my name. But I was not an operator. And so our costs were low of course. At the time, I had a permit. When I got my license, I input my name and info to add a driver online thinking I would get a quote for how much it was going, but it actually added me, and when I called the company telling them about the misunderstanding, they said they couldn't take my name off the policy as a driver because I have a license, and that the car is accesable to me because I do have a license(liability). Now the premium has gone up excessively. They said that I can't take my name off the policy unless I don't live at home, or give up my license. Is this truly the only options?
Car insurance for teen? My dad says that by me getting my permit(haven't got yet) his insurance deductable will go from 200$ to 500$. I need help with finding a popular insurance company that has low-cost coverage for teenage drivers.

how does car insurance determine how much my insurance will go up? I was recently involved in a car accident, its my fault, my first time in 15years of driving. They will probably total the other car involved since the car only cost $900 kbb. The damage on my SUV in the lower right bumper, i have little misaligned on my hood and scratch on my headlight, I was thinking of just getting my bumper fixed so it wont cost my insurance company too much. I guess my main question is, does it matter how much my insurance pays for all the damages, is this how they determine how much my insurance premium will go up? will it be the same if i just get everything fixed? thanks
What newer-model SUV will give me low insurance quotes? I've recently begun looking for a new-ish SUV (2005-2007). I recently found a great car, but the insurance quote from a broker was ridiculous. My driving isn't that great. So now my only option is to change the car I want for more affordable insurance. Are there specific models or brands that will yield more affordable insurance rates? Maybe due to safety ratings or reliability or something? Also, once I turn 25, how much will that affect my insurance cost (I'm 23 now)? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Will women finally start re-evaluating the cost of a second income job given rising gas prices? Unless you work from home, it's worth spending a few moments, either with a spreadsheet program or on paper, to figure out exactly the value of a second income job. People wrongly assume that you need dual incomes to survive these days, but actually, it's completely untrue. And in many cases, a dual income actually ends up costing you more, in higher taxes and greater expense. Start with your added income. Then subtract out all the related expenses: additional clothing costs (biz suits, make-up, hair care, your lunch costs, dinner costs (frozen entrees and take-out vs. if you prepared dinners), ever-rising GAS costs, car annual maintenance costs, car insurance (often cheaper for low mileage vehicles), day care, etc. Go online to irs.gov and calculate your taxes w/ and w/o your income too. Figure your actual net income and divide that by your hours. Now... is it worth it, vs. more time at home? As gas prices continue rising, I wonder if women will start reconsidering. Thanks Ed! Actually, I owe my understanding of this to my older sister who made a point of educated me on this. A few years ago she "did the math" and was stunned to realize that, for all her time and hard work (plus having to be the "superwoman" and do the housework at home too), she was maybe netting 75 cents an hour! So instead she quit her F/T job, their household income dropped from $125,000 to only $65,000, and she started a little home-based business. So not only did their tax burden plummet, they could start deducting legitimate business taxes! As result, their net after-tax, after expense income actually increased about 25%!!! AND she's home all day with her kids, and they eat and live healthier than ever before. And this was when gas was $1/gallon! I think the problem is, most women just assume a dual income is necessary. But it's actually just a scam, because the government wants the additional revenue stream.
(USA) Insurance while renting a moving truck - do any independent companies sell it? We're moving, and renting a moving truck. We definitely need the CDW (collision damage waiver) "insurance" coverage, but the vendor's charge is excessive. Are there any independent companies that will sell short-term collision/damage/loss insurance, so I don't have to buy it from the vendor? I've been buying low-cost CDW for car rentals this way, but the company I use doesn't cover truck rentals and I can't find another company that will do it. Our liability insurance for our car will provide coverage, but not for any damage that happens to the truck we will be driving.
Which vehicle should I buy? Considering hybrids, miles per gal, initial vehicle cost, insurance, etc...? We need a vehicle, and with all the options available now, I'm having a hard time determining overall cost for owning and operating a traditional car compared to a hybrid. The new 2008 Tahoe Hybrid costs $50,000 but will it save me a ton of money in gas compared to a non-hybrid SUV that might cost me 35,000? We need seating for 6, so I'll consider any vehicle with that capacity, but really don't like the gas mileage of most SUVs, especially now with our Explorer - terrible gas mileage. If you consider the overall expense of the initial purchase, gas price, insurance, repairs, is a hybrid really saving me that much that I should pay $50,000? Any suggestions for cars that seat 6 would also be appreciated. Obviously, I'm trying to find the lowest operating costs. Thanks!

Car Insurance UK? I'm confused about something. I've been driving for about 7 months and have my own insurance which is fully comp and I pay £102 each month. Only now my boyfriend drives my car but only has just passed his test last month. I need to put him on my insurance as a 2nd driver. Only I'm sure that I have read and when I took out my own insurance that by putting a 2nd driver onto my insurance would lower my rate. However I have been doin online quotes and all of them are basically sayin I'll be paying around £300 MORE a month, which we cannot afford! I'm confused because I thought that with him being on it we'll be paying less or around the same amount! Can he take out his own insurance on my car or does he have to go on mine? Also does anyone know why it'll cost so much more for him to go on mine? Thank you :)
Car Insurance Write Off question. Whats refering back to the insurance as a stale mate when we refused offer? I had an accident a the end of december and the other driver admitted liability, the car has been written off and we had an offer of £2000 from the insurance company which I flat turned down as to get the same make, model and year etc would cost us (the lowest found £2695). I sent in all the information and a covering letter and they have now offered £2200...and they said "if you do not accept this offer it will go down as a stale mate and be returned to the insurance company"...what the chuff does this mean? I thought they were the insurance company? Any insurance guru's out there care to enlighten me? Thanks ok thanks for the answers so far. I cant find any link between my isurance compnay Royal Sun Alliance and His Equity Red Star..... also from what I can gather, My insurance company refer oit to some company called ETWB who arrange the offer, I dont really know how this works, whether my insurance company will get a settlement, pay me and then get it back from his insurance. I would have thought it would be hios insurance that pays me direct Thank you. We already have a hire car that is being paid for by the other parties insurance company so they wont be best pleased they are having to pay for this. We have a supervisor calling us back in the morning to discuss it , the normal chappie didn't even know which insurance company he would be refering it back to!
Car Insurance? Im Thinkin Of Buyin My First Car, but my Insurance Is costing 4000, my mates is getin it for 1300, when i tried the same insurance company as him, i got 2500, How could i lower this?
Is there a website where I can compare how insurance rates differ by city? A few years back, I moved from a large city in Virginia to a very small town in Pennsylvania. I assumed my car insurance premiums would be lower, since I had been told that car insurance costs more in cities than in the country. Long story short, my car insurance skyrocketed. The agent said it was because car insurance was more costly in Pennsylvania due to its regulations. I'm considering moving to another state, and don't want to be surprised by car insurance. But I can't find a website that lets you compare rates city by city, such as car insurance in city a is usually this percentage more than in city b.
Insurance costs for new drivers? I am thinking of getting my driver's license in about seven months (when i turn 18), but i am a bit discouraged by the quotes for car insurance that i have been given. I was told that car insurance for new driver's is about $3500 per year (and this is with a 40% discount for maintaining a 4.0 GPA). If i am put on my parent's insurance plan, it will still cost me $1100 per year (i have to make up the difference caused by adding me to their policy). Is this the normal rate for insurance for new driver's? Any other way to lower the cost? Any help would be greatly appreciated because i really want to learn to drive but the cost is so great...especially since i will be starting college next year. How much driving experience do i have to have before the insurance cost goes down? What other factors would cause the cost to go down? I'm sorry..forgot to say that i live in New Mexico
Please help me choose a first car for a young driver . . . .? Hiya, I need it to be high reliability, as I can't afford to have it repaired every few months. I need low costs - Insurance, and tax and for it not to drink fuel. Good both in towns and motorways but not always fast lane! Quite comfortable drivers seat. I was thinking Nissan Micra or Toyota Yaris. What would you get ? I am in England and can't really afford to spend any more than £2,500. Thank-you, I will choose a best answer as well.
California car insurance-is it ok to wait 3 months to inform insurance company that my car needs repair? I saw scratches on my car 3 months ago (I was not in an accident with any personal injury it was probably hit and run) and then I had to leave for an overseas assignment. Now I'm back and when I called Metlife, the rep said something like why did you wait so long? Actually I was also thinking if the cost is low I'll have it repaired myself and not file a claim. The adjuster is coming out but I'm worried waiting 3 months will cause a problem. Any advice?
My car is classed as a Category C insurance write off. Can I appeal against this? Before I owned the car, a 1997 Ford Escort Estate, it was involved in a minor bump. The car was stationary, and was hit at low speed by a reversing car. The only damage was to the tailgate. The insurance company had the repairs valued at over £1000, and thus offered the owner £900 to scrap the vehicle. The owner refused, as the car was otherwise immaculate. He took it to a private but reputable bodyshop, who replaced the tailgate, at a cost of £500. They re-MOT'd the car, and the insurance was re-instated. On applying for a new V5, having just bought the car, I have just had a letter from the DVLA saying I need to get a Vehicle Identity Check, as the car is classed as an insurance write off, Category C. As no claim was pursued, and no money was handed over by the insurance company, surely the car was NOT written off, and my car should not have "The vehicle has been substantially repaired and/or accident damaged" on it's log book.
Will they ever be a super light super cheap and therefore super fast car? I want a car like this one, (ariel atom) note the weight 456Kg! http://www.arielmotor.co.uk/04/frames.htm 0-60mph 2.9seconds! With only 220BHP 2liter engine however it needs a smaller engine to lower insurance costs for younger drivers. How cool would that be for your first car! I wanted to know if they is anything similar, because i hate hatchbacks their too heavy (about 1000Kgs) This is not an add i just love this car!
First Car For A Young Driver - Help Needed!? Hiya, I need it to be high reliability, as I can't afford to have it repaired every few months. Finance problem question concerning payments on a car.? You are thinking of buying a used car that costs $6,000 and has an expected zero resale value at the end of 4 years. Both Bank of Montreal (BMO) and Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD) are offering special low-rate car loans to York students. BMO will loan you the $6,000 and charge you a 6% EAR and want the loan repaid in 48 equal monthly payments, with the first payment due at the end of the first month. TD will loan you the purchase price of the car at a 7% APR with the first payment also due at the end of the first month. The TD loan has also to be paid in full within 48 equal monthly payments. Your estimated costs of operating the car, including insurance, are $315.00 per month, payable at the start of each month. You currently have $19,000 in your investment account, which is earning 8%, compounded annually (your discount rate). (a) What is the monthly payment for the BMO loan? (4 marks) (b) What is the monthly payment for the TD loan? (4 marks) (c) Can you afford to buy the car if you choose the cheaper loan? (8 marks)
Is My Car Insurance Company Robbing Me?? Hi, Is my car insurance premium too high? - I live in Rockville, MD - I am a 28 year old male - Drive a 2004 Infiniti g35 sedan - Insured with Statefarm - 2 speeding tickets on record - lowest coverage (liability only) and highest deductable allowed by state law - Cost $185 /mo
I want a relatively low cost, cheap to run, small engined 4x4 any suggestions? Engine size should be no more than 1.8 (for insurance purposes), fuel consumption would be nice around the 30mpg mark and cost under £10,000. UK cars only thanks peeps
Rather than a national heathcare program, why not just make heathcare insurance mandatory? When I first start driving a car, auto insurance wasn't mandatory. Guess what? Most people didn't buy it, and policies were expensive as a result. When the state passed a bill requiring auto insurance, the free market drove the price of insurance down. The same would happen with health insurance. Most people who don't have health insurance are young and healthy. They feel they don't need it. But, at some point in life, they will. It makes sense that these people should help support a system that they will need at some point in there life. If everyone was required to get health insurance, insurance companies would be falling all over themselves offering low cost policies to healthy young people. This profit base would ease the cost across all age groups. Rather than create a monster, a massive government agency, why not try mandatory insurance first? Poverty level people already get free healthcare. A tax system to pay for healthcare will drive the price up not down. Requiring everyone to buy insurance is the same effect as creating a national program without the cost of a bureaucracy.
which older cars are group 1 0r 2 insurance? i need to buy a new car as i now have 1 0r 2 points im only looking at paying about 500 pound but i need something really low insurance as its costing me a small fortune
What is a good vehicle with a low insurance rate? I am looking for a vehicle for a 20 year old female with a clean record. I would like something that has four doors and does not cost any more than $30,000. Also, I would like something that is not a grandma car.
First Car Questions? Right, I'm 20 and I'm fixing to buy my first vehicle. What american vehicles (Yes, I'm bias. Live with it) would you recommend that would keep insurance costs low? I'm none too concerned about maintenance of the vehicle because I've got tools and I am very handy with them, so I should be able to find my way around the engine, fuel system, electrical system and all that. I make $7 an hour and I'm pulling in around $300 or so with every paycheck, just thought knowing my budget would help.
Auto insurance adjuster -the assessment is too low - what do I do now? I was in a crash where I was rear-ended last week. The car behind me was held responsible, their insurance will pay. But - I was told by their insurance, which is AllState, to take my car in to an AllState adjuster's office to have it looked at. The car is dangerous to drive, one whole light assembly is broken at the back, but I did drive it to his office. Then the adjuster told me the damage would cost $1500 to mend, and gave me a written sheet with details on it. He told me to give this to any auto body repair shop of my choice. I had already got one quote from an auto shop - they said $2500. What should I do? I am worried that the quote is really low from the adjuster, and no body shop would do the work for that little. Should I do as the adjuster wanted, and give his quote sheet to another autobody shop, and get them to quote based on that - or should I not mention the adjuster's quote, and get more quotes without it?I just have this instinct that AllState are trying to rip me off!
